SAFA Produces Two New FIFA Regional Coaching Instructor

The South African Football Association is proud to announce the appointments of Urban De Kock of Kokstad, KwaZulu Natal and Edward Suoane Ramashala of Aliwal North, EasternCape as FIFA Regional Coaching Instructors following confirmation of such appointments by FIFA.
De Kock and Ramashala were appointedaftersucessfully attending the FUTURO III Courses and a follow-up course and have been congratulated by FIFA's Technical Director, Jean-Michel Benezet. |

De Kock has just concluded his first assignment when he conducted the FIFA Coaching Course in Gambia from 16 - 22 March 2009 where he taught 30 participants, while Ramashala is awaiting his first FIFA assignment. The 47 year old De Kock, together with Desmond Lewis,today endedthe SAFA Level 1Coaching Course at Coega Village in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth which started on April 3.
"I can only thank SAFA for what I have achieved," says De Kock, who is a former player of Maritzburg United under the former Federation Professional League. "The SAFA courses are of a high standard, evenhigher than some of the respected European countries. Just today, we are finishing what has been a highly successful course and the participants were quite impressive," says the man, who also coached Kokstad Swallows and has also been coach to the Eastern Cape Under 17 Provincial Team.
The 50 year-old Ramashala is a former coach of the Under 20Eastern Cape Provincial Team under the then SAFA Transkei region, and the Malcomess High in Aliwal North, where he was a shoolteacher. He is also a former player of Mountain Aces, who played under the then Southern Free State which now falls under the EasternCape. He also coached City Swallows during the then Castle League (now known as the SAB League). In 2003, Ramashala formed his own club, Young Stars, which is currently campaigning in the Vodacom League in Eastern Cape.
"This appointment has come as a fulfillment for the hard work I have put over the years to get this far. It is also proof that South Africans are amongst the best administrators and instructors in the world. Though I have been doing a lot of Coaching Course assignments for SAFA, I am keenly awaiting my first appointment from FIFA. Thank you SAFA for the great courses," says Ramashala.
Meanwhile, at the Springs Civic Centre, SAFA will be conducting Phase 1 of the SAFA Introductory Coaching Course on 18, 19, 25 & 26 April 2009 for 70 Coaches.
The Course Instructors are: Themba Ngwenya, Paul Mbowane, Patrick Louw and Steve Coetsee.
