Under-23 Squad Camp Starts

The South African team to play in the African Nations Champions will start camp on Monday, 08 February. The team comprises of Under 23 players as well as those over age plying their trade in the Absa Premiership.
They will face Lesotho in two friendly international matches. The first match is on Thursday, 11 February while the second will take place on Monday, 15 February. Both matches take place in Lesotho.
The team departs for Lesotho on Tuesday, 09 February.
Stand-in coach Serame Letsoaka says they had great difficulty in getting players.
“We had to get a team together. Even though a decision has been made to use Under 23 players only, we could not get those we wanted because of a heavy fixture schedule of the league. Hence we will use some of the players who are over age and not playing at their clubs. So for the first leg of the official match against Botswana in Gaborone on the 14th of March, we will use the team that will go into camp on Monday, but for the return leg in South African on the 28th we are going to have all the Under 23 players that we want and we will use them for that match,” said Letsoaka.
